The Trump Regime’s Illegal Sanctions War on Venezuela to Escalate

There’s no ambiguity about US war on Venezuela by other means. The whole world understands its imperial designs on the country, wanting it controlled as a client state under puppet rule, its resources looted, its people exploited.
It’s the same regime imposed on countless other nations, seeking dominion over planet earth by whatever it takes to achieve its diabolical aims.
Venezuela was targeted for regime change straightaway by the Clinton co-presidency after Hugo Chavez’s December 1998 election.
Things escalated under Bush/Cheney, accelerated further by Obama - intensified on steroids by Trump regime hardliners short of naked aggression - so far, all options on the table, Trump roared last year and again in mid-February.
His notion of democratic governance is none at all, wanting it eliminated in Venezuela and wherever else it exists - by brute force if other tactics fail. He’s captive to dark forces controlling him, a front man for their diabolical interests.
That’s what the scourge of imperialism is all about, the US its most ruthless exponent in world history. Its rage for global dominance threatens everyone everywhere, an unparalleled menace to humanity.
Weekend events along Venezuela’s land and sea borders were prelude for greater toughness to come.
Evangelical Christian fascist/warmonger Mike Pence will meet with usurper in waiting Guaido and regional vassal states in Bogota, Colombia on Monday.
He’s set to announce what he called “concrete steps (and) clear actions” against Venezuelan social democracy he and other Trump regime hardliners deplore - measures beyond ongoing war by other means, notably stiffer illegal sanctions prepared well ahead of Feb. 23.
Neocon hardliner Pompeo was more explicit on Sunday TV talk shows, saying “more (illegal) sanctions” will be imposed, adding they’ll be more Trojan horse “humanitarian assistance” to Venezuela.
What’s coming will likely be cover for smuggling assault weapons and related equipment to dark forces in the country, Russia’s Foreign Ministry explained.
They’ll be airlifted to neighboring countries from the US, then sent cross-border to anti-government criminal gangs, the CIA in charge of the plot to unfold ahead.
Maduro denounced US Trojan horse “aid,” calling it a pretext for invasion. Pompeo practically admitted it saying “we’ll find…ways to make sure” the Trump regime’s Trojan horse enters Venezuela.
On Fox News Sunday, he recited his usual litany of bald-faced Big Lies, saying “the Venezuelan people are speaking loudly and clearly. They understand that Juan Guaido is the legitimate president of the country (sic). We are supporting that.”
Venezuelan polls show 86% of its people oppose military intervention, 81% against sanctions. The vast majority of Venezuelans never heard of Guaido until he designated himself interim president, following orders from Washington, flagrantly breaching international and Venezuelan constitutional law.
Maduro is the country’s democratically elected and reelected president, not a “sick tyrant…who’s denying food to starving Venezuelans and medicine to sick Venezuelans.”
More Big Lies followed. Pompeo falsely blamed Maduro for torching two trucks on the Colombian side of the border, loaded with Trojan horse “aid.”
Eyewitnesses reported that masked thugs on Colombian territory torched two USAID trucks. On the Venezuelan side of the border, the nation’s National Guard had nothing to do with the sick stunt - fooling no one, anti-democratic hardliners and Western media scoundrels pretending otherwise.
Pompeo threatened Maduro, saying “(w)e’ve already taken action,” turning truth on its head calling US convenient stooge Guaido Venezuela’s “duly elected president” - a traitor to his country elected by no one to its highest office.
Asked if the Trump regime intends force to topple Maduro, Pompeo repeated the threat that “every option is on the table.”
Sunday Fox News and CNN talk show hosts failed to challenge the illegality of what’s going on - an old-fashioned coup d’etat attempt to topple a legitimate head of state, a US specialty tried scores of previous times successfully and unsuccessfully.
UN High Commissioners for Human Rights are reliable imperial tools, one-sidedly supporting US-led Western interests, including naked aggression against nonbelligerent countries and coup d’etats - suppressing hard truths, justifying the unjustifiable.
Current UNHCR, former Chilean president, Michele Bachelet embarrassed herself over the weekend, supporting the Trump regime’s coop attempt - falsely blaming “(t)he Venezuelan government (for) excessive force against unarmed protesters and ordinary citizens” - actions orchestrated by the US, committed by anti-government thugs.
Venezuelan National Guard forces have strict orders to avoid violence, self-defense permitted when they and peaceful Venezuelans are threatened - largely by using tear gas.
Establishment media reports repeated propaganda from the Trump regime and its fascist Colombian and Brazilian partners in the plot to topple Maduro - a litany of bald-faced Big Lies, hard truth about weekend events suppressed.
Maduro’s “days are numbered,” Pompeo roared on CNN Sunday, stopping short of elaborating on when and how the full force of US imperial viciousness will try toppling him.
According to Venezuelan police, provocateurs involved in stoking violence on Saturday along the border with Colombia were arrested and detained - caught with weapons when apprehended, likely made in the USA.
Venezuelan security forces responded to “gunshots” fired at them by criminal gangs. Saturday events were orchestrated in Washington.
More of the same is sure to follow, the worst likely to come. The struggle to save Venezuela from US imperial dominance continues. The nation’s sovereignty depends on prevailing over its scourge.
