Former US and NATO Officials Teaming Up Against Russia
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Russia is falsely accused of all sorts of things to justify unjustifiable US-led Western actions against the country – part of Washington’s longstanding regime change plans, wanting its sovereign independence replaced by pro-Western puppet governance.
The neocon/CIA-linked Washington Post urged Republicans, undemocratic Dems, and their EU counterparts to team up against Russia.
Joe Biden, former Bush/Cheney DHS secretary Michael Chertoff, and former US-installed NATO secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen formed an anti-Kremlin alliance.
No evidence suggests Moscow interfered in America’s electoral process, European ones, or any others. Yet fabricated accusations persist.
WaPo: Addressing the issue “can be done only by…putting all the pieces together and acknowledging that Russian interference is a threat not just to our elections but also to our ability to function as a democratic society.”
“Then, if we realize that European countries face the same threat, the need to join forces with them becomes obvious.”
Fact: Fantasy democracy exists in Western countries, unrelated to rule of the people. Russia has the real thing.
Fact: Since accusations of Kremlin US electoral meddling first surfaced in October 2016, not a shred of evidence proved it in America or anywhere else.
Joe Biden absurdly called for a (sort of reverse) 9/11 (whitewash) commission to investigate (nonexistent) Russian US election meddling.
Rasmussen and Biden are working together to establish one. In February, they agreed to form a Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity (TCEI).
It should focus on the deplorable US money-controlled electoral process, not Russia’s – real democracy polar opposite America’s fantasy version.
WaPo falsely said “Russian interference is not new,” calling it “more aggressive and widespread than ever,” adding without corroborating evidence:
“(T)he Russian government interfered in Brexit, the most recent French presidential election, the Catalonian independence vote in Spain, and even the recent Italian elections through a mix of propaganda, illicit funding and complex social media manipulation meant to promote Russian interests and sow chaos in democratic political systems.”
“Closer to home, there are signs Russia is interfering in upcoming elections in Mexico.” It’s hard imagining anyone believes this rubbish.
If adjudicated in a fair and impartial tribunal, a case against Russia would be dismissed straightaway for lack of evidence because none exists.
Rasmussen was and remains a despicable character, a willing US puppet at NATO, operating the same way now, teaming up with two extremist former US officials – falsely saying “(y)ou have a lot of examples of the Russians trying to stir up dissatisfaction, spur nationalism, in an attempt to weaken the confidence in our democratic institutions.”
A June TCEI inaugural meeting is scheduled in Copenhagen, aiming to continue US-led hostility toward Russia.
According to WaPo turning truth on its head, “Russia…continue(s) to undermine our democratic systems, spur instability and fuel nationalism on both the left and the right sides of the political spectrum.”
Separately, WaPo editors falsely accused Russia of planning new hostile actions against America and its allies.
No “Russian threat” exists, no Kremlin interference in US federal or states’ electoral systems, no attempts “to penetrate voting-related websites,” no anti-US “cyberactors,” no planned stepped-up Moscow “aggressive” tactics.
Claims otherwise are Big Lies. US Russia bashing is longstanding, in recent times, notably hostile in Obama’s second term and during Trump’s tenure so far.
Irreconcilable differences separate the agendas of both countries – especially Russia’s drive for world peace and stability compared to endless US wars of aggression.
Make your own judgment on which one warrants support, witch opposing one demands condemnation.
