The Latest Skripal Incident Big Lie
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Endless US/UK accusations against Russia were fabricated, the Skripal incident one of the most transparent.
The Kremlin indisputably had nothing to do with whatever harmed Sergey and Yulia Skripal last March – clearly not a deadly novichok nerve agent as falsely claimed.
A minute amount causes death in minutes. Father and daughter Skripal are alive and well, held incommunicado at an undisclosed location, perhaps against their will, Russia denied contact with its citizens, an international provocation.
Sergey Lavrov accused Britain of “making a mockery of international law” for its Skripal incident behavior.
The Theresa May regime is unwilling to let the Skripals live normal lives and speak publicly about their ordeal – fearing their disclosures will unravel the clearly fabricated official narrative.
According to the London Telegraph, Russian national Alexander Petrov is “Alexander Mishkin, a 39-year-old spy with Russian military intelligence,” adding:
Along with Ruslan Boshirov, he “was unmasked less than a fortnight ago as Colonel Anatoliy Chepiga, a highly decorated GRU officer who received the hero of the Russian federation award by the decree of Mr Putin.”
The self-styled “research collective” Bellingcat was cited as the source of the above disinformation. Its founder Eliot Higgins is affiliated with the Russophobic neocon Atlantic Council. He’s a nonresident digital forensic research lab senior fellow.
No evidence was cited supporting its accusations because none exists.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russian records have no information about a Col. Anatoly Chepiga – nor about anyone by this name receiving the nation’s highest merit award, adding:
“All those speculations about who resembles whom. You know, we have a dozen Stalins and 15 Lenins running around Red Square…each…look(ing) a lot like the original.”
RT said UK-based Bellingcat “is connected to projects financed by NATO and known mostly for compiling various public data to back various accusations against Russia.”
On Monday, UK Metropolitan Police declined to comment on the latest accusation, a statement saying “(w)e are not going to comment on (media) speculation regarding (the Skripal suspects’) identities.”
Sergey Lavrov said UK Skripal incident accusations against Russia are discredited by lack of evidence.
Since the incident occurred in March, Russia’s Foreign Ministry sent dozens of requests to Britain’s Foreign Office for access to information on the investigation – no response gotten each time.
Petrov and Boshirov categorically denied involvement in the Skripal incident, saying they know nothing about the Skripals, adding:
They work in the fitness industry, and visited Britain last March as tourists, doing nothing to conceal their presence in the country.
Clearly they’ve both been used as convenient patsies. No evidence suggests they entered Britain to harm the Skripals or anyone else.
For the past seven months, the US and UK regimes falsely blamed Russia for what it had nothing to do with.
The Big Lie persists along with countless others – demonizing Russia for its sovereign independence, opposition to Washington’s imperial objectives, and endless wars of aggression.
