Disinformation What CNN Does Best

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

CNN is the worst of the worst among so-called US television news media, truth-telling banished from its reports, disinformation substituting, viewers consistently lied to – especially on major issues, notably anything to do with Russia.

Following its broadcasts assures being misinformed and disinformed, Russophobia featured in much of its programming.

In a Russiagate report on WikiLeaks, it falsely claimed Trump’s campaign team got access to stolen DNC files before their public release.

They weren’t hacked or stolen. They were leaked by a DNC insider, a topic I covered in earlier articles. Russiagate is a complete fabrication – with a life of its own, courtesy of Western media scoundrels, CNN the worst among a deplorable array of electronic media liars.

Its latest accusation was based on an email to the Trump campaign it never saw, falsely claiming it was dated September 4, 2016. It was 10 days later on September 14 – the day after the documents in question were made public by WikiLeaks. CBS ran the same fake news story.

Caught red-handed in reporting disinformation, CNN corrected its story – when it was too late to matter, damage already done, mainly to its reputation as the most UNtrustworthy name in television news, lacking credibility, insulting its viewers, never letting facts get in the way of its Russophobic reporting.

Earlier, CNN had to retract a story claiming Trump campaign advisor Anthony Scaramucci, under Senate investigation, met with Kirill Dmitriev, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO, at last winter’s Davos World Economic Forum.

The fund manages direct foreign investments in the nation’s economy. In June 2016, it became an independent private enterprise.

CNN claimed “Congress was investigating a Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials” – willful deception.

Congressional investigators allegedly wanted to know if lifting Russian sanctions was discussed. Scaramucci told CNN there was “nothing there.” An RDIF spokesperson said no such discussion took place.

In June, CNN retracted another fake news story claiming former FBI director James Comey would refute Trump’s claim about not being under investigation by the agency.

In congressional testimony, Comey said Trump wasn’t being investigated on his watch, exposing another CNN Big Lie.

Numerous other examples show why nothing it reports on Russia, other geopolitical issues, and most everything else of importance lacks credibility.
