Twitter Co-Founder’s Medium Website Slams Truth-Telling on Syria
Western media disinformation on Syria is some of the most abysmal in memory – all propaganda all the time, hard truths suppressed, notably about a nation raped by US imperialism like many others.
There’s nothing civil about war in Syria, Obama’s war, now Trump’s, waged for regime change, using ISIS and other cutthroat killer terrorists as imperial proxies – their high crimes ignored or blamed on victims.
Dark forces in Washington want pro-Western puppet rule replacing Syrian sovereign independence, Iran isolated ahead of a similar plot against its legitimate government, wanting it forcefully toppled – what diabolical imperialism is all about, its agenda pure evil.
The Medium.com (Medium Corporation) was founded by Twitter co-founder Evan Williams, a site for material longer than Twitter’s 140-character maximum – featuring disinformation, Big Lies and fake news like other corporate media, journalism the way it’s supposed to be prohibited.
Evans lied claiming the site intends “mak(ing) your day better,” featuring “stories…that change the world…help(ing) you find the right audience for whatever you have to say.”
The Medium is much more than an “obscure blog post,” what RT called it – not if its claim about millions of monthly visitors is accurate.
On August 24, it published a so-called “directory on 151 public figures” it claims “expressed support (for) and/or whitewashed” information about Syria’s Bashar al-Assad’s government.
It shamefully said it aims to distinguish between “what is true and who to trust about Syria, why the people on (its) list should not be trusted as sources.”
Some of the notable figures it slammed include Mother Agnes, Tim Anderson, Eva Bartlett, Vanessa Beeley, Max Blumenthal, Jeremy Corbyn, George Galloway, Patrick Henningsen, Seymour Hersh, David Icke, Ray McGovern, Thierry Meyssan, Craig Murray, the late Robert Parry, John Pilger, Gareth Porter, Theodore Postol, Paul Craig Roberts, Roger Waters, and Ann Wright, among many others – distinguished figures reporting accurately on issues they address, why they were disgracefully targeted.
I didn’t make the list of 151. In a separate article, the Medium slammed me, describing me as “a self-styled ‘progressive’ commentator,” criticizing me for supporting RT and Sputnik News, calling my remarks “fake news” – pretending major media proliferated fake news is legitimate journalism.
Journalists and others the Medium called “Assadists” or Assad apologists oppose US-led naked aggression on the country. They support Syria’s sovereign independence.
They comment accurately on what’s going on. They’re not involved in “criminal…incitement of a crime against humanity,” as the Medium disgracefully claimed, saying some figures on its list are more guilty than others.
Truth-telling is what journalism the way it’s supposed to be is all about – the test deplorable Western media consistently fail to uphold on major geopolitical issues and most others.
Syrian supporters like myself respect its sovereign independence, territorial integrity, and exclusive right of its people to choose their leadership and government representatives – free from foreign interference.
On June 4, 2014, in an election independent international monitors judged open, free and fair, Syrians overwhelmingly voted for Assad to remain president.
They want no one else leading them. No one has the right to ignore or try to undermine the democratic will of the Syrian people or their counterparts in other countries.
It’s what Washington, NATO, Israel and their imperial partners do repeatedly against sovereign independent countries – the highest of high crimes when naked aggression is waged for regime change.
My newest book as editor and contributor is titled "Flashpoint in Ukraine: How the US Drive for Hegemony Risks WW III."
