Trump Regime to Incarcerate Unwanted Immigrants on Military Bases

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Trump and extremist hardliners infesting his regime are hostile to world peace, stability, rule of law principles, governance serving everyone equitably, and fundamental human rights.

They’re notably hostile to Muslims, America’s poor and most vulnerable, as well as immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers from unwanted countries - based on their race, ethnicity and/or religion alone.

The tired, poor, huddled masses, yearning to breathe free no longer are welcome in America. The lamp beside its golden door isn’t lifted for them.

Safe haven in the US is off limits to the wretched of the earth, its countless homeless, tempest-tossed millions.

A previous article explained that under Trump’s new executive order, unwanted immigrant children will be incarcerated with parents instead of held separately.

Holding them against their will under concentration camp conditions amounts to treating desperate families fleeing home countries for safety or other justifiable reasons like criminals, repressing them instead of helping in their time of great need.

Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy reflects maximum indifference to fundamental human rights, needs and welfare, how all rogue states operate, America by far the worst by its aggressive and unlawful global actions.

Trump intends incarcerating around 20,000 or more immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers on four Pentagon military bases in Texas and Arkansas under harsh conditions, holding them as virtual prisoners of a hostile regime, uncaring about their rights and needs.

Reportedly the plan is to hold unwanted “unaccompanied alien children” there, according to Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Michael Andrews.

It’s unclear but likely that unwanted parents and children will be held together, no details so far provided.

Trump’s new executive order calls for detaining families at the same facility. Holding thousands at military bases is planned at least through yearend - the Pentagon and HHS department to handle their internment jointly, how not clear.

War secretary Mattis ordered military lawyers to border areas to assist in prosecuting the unwanteds.

According to Rep. Ted Lieu, a former military lawyer, ones on active duty aren’t trained in immigration law. Their “main mission is to help commanders fight our wars, not prosecute misdemeanors.”

The fate of countless thousands of unwanteds lies in the hands of a ruthless regime, not caring a hoot about their rights and welfare.
