Fabricated Trump Regime Accusations Against Iran

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

Accusations by hegemons against governments they want toppled lack credibility, disinformation used to gain broad support for what no ruling authorities anywhere should accept.

The US and its imperial allies notoriously accuse countries they attack of crimes committed against them.

Governments of nations the US wants replaced by pro-Western puppet regimes are falsely accused of countless offenses to unjustly vilify them – including election meddling, political assassinations, state-sponsored terrorism, along with using chemical and other banned weapons.

Washington’s drive for hegemony needs enemies. None exist so they’re invented. Iran tops the Trump regime’s list for regime change, its aim along with Israel’s.

False accusations against the country repeat with disturbing regularity, notably by Trump hardliners, following AIPAC’s playbook, claiming:

“Iran (is) the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism…”

False! The dubious distinction goes to America, NATO and Israel – a sinister permanent war alliance in the Middle East and elsewhere.

AIPAC: Iran is “Israel’s and America’s greatest long-term threat in the Middle East.”

False! The Islamic Republic threatens no other nations, It’s the region’s leading peace and stability champion.

The US, NATO and Israel oppose these objectives, pursuing endless wars of aggression for power, riches, and subjugation of targeted nations.

AIPAC: “For more than two decades, Iran has flouted its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and sought a nuclear weapons capability to further its hegemonic aims.”

False! Iran fully observes NPT provisions. The US and Israel flout them unaccountably. The Jewish state is the region’s only nuclear armed and dangerous country – maintaining and using banned chemical and biological arsenals against Palestinians and targeted countries when attacking them.

AIPAC: Israeli “intelligence…revealed startling new evidence…that Iran has been lying to the international community about its nuclear program for decades.”

False! No such intelligence exist. Iran’s peaceful nuclear program has no military component – repeatedly confirmed by the IAEA. Claims by Israel and AIPAC were and remain bald-faced lies.

AIPAC: “Iran is a radical Islamic theocracy that seeks to export its revolutionary ideology abroad by supporting terrorist proxy groups—including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.”

False! There’s nothing radical about Islam in Iran – polar opposite how despotic Saudi Arabia operates.

Hezbollah and Hamas are legitimate political groups. They’re involved in combating terrorist groups, not supporting them like the US, NATO, the Saudis and Israel.

AIPAC: “The United States must confront Iran’s aggression…”

No Iranian aggression exists – a US/NATO/Israeli speciality, raping and destroying countries to control them, their resources, and populations.

In its latest annual report on terrorism, the Trump regime’s State Department turned truth on its head – calling Iran the world’s leading state sponsor, repeating the Israeli/AIPAC Big Lie.

The same false accusation repeats annually. Last week, US major media said the Trump regime is set to (falsely) accuse Iran of Chemical Weapons Convention violations – banning the production, stockpiling, and use of CWs and their precursors.

The so-called finding comes from fabricated intelligence, according to unnamed US officials – continuing all-out Trump regime efforts to vilify Iran unjustly, perhaps ahead of more illegal sanctions and other destabilizing tactics.

Trump regime hardliners want sovereign Iranian independence replaced by pro-Western puppet rule – political, economic, financial, and propaganda war pursued to achieve its objective.

Perhaps hot war will be launched if current efforts fail like every time before. For nearly 40 years, the Islamic Republic has effectively withstood endless US hostility.

Trump’s hostile agenda isn’t likely to fair better than his predecessors. If war follows failure to topple Iran’s government by current toughness, the US will face its toughest adversary since North Vietnam in the 1960s and 70s.

The Islamic Republic is far stronger militarily than pre-war Iraq, Libya or Syria. Iranian missiles with destructive warheads can hit Israeli targets and US regional ones.

Iran wants peace, not war. If attacked, it’ll hit back hard, roiling the region with destructive force. Bush/Cheney war plans on the country weren’t implemented.

Will Trump hardliners go where they wouldn’t dare? Will they risk confrontation with Russia, perhaps as willing to get involved in Iran if it’s preemptively attacked as its intervention in Syria?

What’s going on is cause for great concern – unrelated to any threats posed by Iran. US aims against the country are all about gaining another imperial trophy and eliminating Israel’s main regional rival.

Is that enough to risk waging WW III over? If launched, it’ll endanger humanity’s survival like never before – never by Iran, dangerously possible by hardliners in Washington and Israel.
