Escalated Trump Regime War on Venezuela by Other Means
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Because of its super weapons, global reach, and aim to dominate all other nations by whatever it takes to achieve its objectives, the US represents an unparalleled menace in world history to everyone everywhere.
Its self-styled exceptionalism, moral superiority, and indispensable status are pure fantasy.
So is its democracy – a notion it reviles at home and abroad, wanting it eliminated everywhere, notably in Venezuela.
It’s the hemisphere’s preeminent socially democratic state, along with having the world’s largest oil reserves, a prize Republicans and undemocratic Dems covet – Trump regime hardliners going all-out to control. More on its diabolical plot below.
Washington’s geopolitical agenda should scare everyone. Peace in our time no longer exists. Because of US rage for global dominance, today is the most perilous time in world history.
America was never beautiful. Today it’s unsafe and unfit to live in, serving its privileged class exclusively, exploiting most others, waging endless wars abroad, along with staging color revolutions and old-fashioned coups.
That’s what the scourge of imperialism is all about – a “boot stamping on a human face, forever,” what Orwell explained decades ago.
In his dystopian novel “1984,” published in 1949, a relatively quiet post-WW II/pre-US aggression against North Korea period, he said the following:
“To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings!”
“Big Brother is Watching You” – today with technological ease Orwell didn’t imagine. Saying “War is Peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength” reflects how imperial America operates.
Elections when held are farcical. Dirty business as usual always wins under one-party rule with two extremist right wings. The only solution is popular revolution.
Orwell put it this way: “Rebellion…the proles, if only they could somehow become conscious of their own strength… They needed only to rise up and shake themselves like a horse shaking off flies. If they chose they could blow the Party to pieces tomorrow morning.”
Regime change begins at home. Resisting tyranny is a universal right. History shows ordinary people have power when they use it.
It’s the only alternative. No others exist. Famed human rights lawyer Lynne Stewart urged ordinary people to “Organize, Organize, Organize.”
In America, people power ended chattel slavery. Wage slavery replaced it, bondage by other means. War on Black Americans transformed Jim Crow to its modern-day version, freedom to mass incarceration.
Civil and labor rights won were lost because energy to preserve them waned. Sustainable change requires longterm struggle. Supreme Court Justice William Douglas (1898 – 1980) once said: “Power concedes nothing without a demand.”
Change always comes bottom up, never top down. Oppressive authority can be challenged and beaten. Social movements can be pivotal forces. Disruptive activism works.
What better time to challenge bipartisan dark forces in Washington than now. Its war on Venezuela by other means is essential to defeat.
On Saturday, its Communication Minister Jorge Rodriguez said the following:
“In an attempt to undermine the tranquility of our people,” the nation’s electricity grid was attacked again on March 29 and 30, “add(ing) to the past aggressions, just when the decisive action of the Government and the workers had achieved the restoration of the electric service.”
Bolivarian Republic governance “will persist with its effort to restore the stability of the electric service. We will achieve the recovery of equipment damaged by the empire and strengthen our system to make it impregnable,” he added.
Since March 7, Venezuela’s electrical grid was sabotaged multiple times, affecting most or parts of the country.
On March 25, two attacks occurred on the same day – targeting the country’s El Guri Hydroelectric plant. “In the last two years, the Venezuelan fascist opposition has perpetrated more than 250 attacks on the National Electric System,” Rodriguez explained.
Its actions were planned and orchestrated by Trump regime hardliners, what Rodriguez called “agents of the northern empire and its local lackeys.”
Separately on Saturday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov slammed the Trump regime, saying they arrogantly say “all options are on the table” – against Venezuela’s democratically elected government they want eliminated.
Russian military personnel are in Venezuela – based on a 2001 bilateral agreement. Reportedly they’re involved in upgrading its S-300 air defense systems, making them state of the art, along with training Venezuela’s military personnel on use of Russian aircraft, helicopters, and other weapons supplied.
Commenting on US designated puppet/usurper in waiting Guaido, Zakharova said “Washington only ‘set up’ those in Latin America and Western Europe who hastily hurried to recognize an unelected impostor as the head of Venezuela. Thus, they deprived themselves of space for diplomatic maneuvers.”
She asked “what are (Pentagon) military (forces) doing in (neighboring) Colombia? (W)hy is the White House eagerly calling for” neighboring Brazil to join NATO? It’s a US-dominated killing machine unrelated to defense, used as an imperial tool.
A Final Comment
Beginning in early April, so-called US-orchestrated “Operation Freedom” is all about staging disruptive actions in Caracas and elsewhere in Venezuela – part of the Trump regime’s plot to try toppling Maduro and eliminate Bolivarian social democracy.
From the script provided him by the Trump regime, Guaido announced so-called “Freedom and Aid Committees (sic)” to form “freedom cells (sic),” repeating what’s become an imperial slogan, saying: “All options are…on the table.”
Urging Venezuela’s military to switch sides hasn’t worked so far, nor is it likely ahead. Guaido is an imperial tool, a convenient stooge, a Trump regime front man on the ground for its latest plot to try staging a national uprising.
It’s likely to fail likely everything else thrown at the Bolivarian Republic so far. Democratic freedoms and national sovereignty in the country are essential to preserve and protect – supported by most Venezuelans.
It’s why Russian involvement in the Bolivarian Republic is crucial – to challenge and outwit Washington as it’s done in Syria, in Venezuela by drawing red lines the Kremlin won’t permit Trump regime hardliners to cross.
