Trump Failed to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution?

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The oath of office for US presidents on inauguration day states the following affirmation:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Has Trump fulfilled his oath of office? He breached it many times over. So did most, perhaps all, previous presidents.

They share guilt, some far more egregiously than others. GW Bush mocked the Constitution, calling it “just a goddamned piece of paper” - his remark confirmed by others with him when he said it.

US presidents flagrantly violated core international, constitutional and US statute laws, notably by waging illegal wars of aggression - the highest of high crimes.

None were ever held accountable. Media scoundrels failed to denounce them, supporting them instead.

Trump is more heavily criticized than any US president in memory, throughout the campaign and since taking office - mostly for the wrong reasons, not the most obvious right ones.

Media scoundrels are at war with him, notably the NYT and CIA house organ Washington Post, along with CNN, airing near non-stop Trump and Russia bashing.

A Times disinformation piece absurdly asked “(w)ho still thinks Russia didn’t meddle in the election?”

Answer: Everything thinking person everywhere, opposite of what the Times wants readers to believe.

Its disinformation piece goes as follows:

“Russia attacked the United States in 2016 by disrupting the presidential election.”

A Big Lie! No Russian attack occurred, no interference, no disruption of America’s electoral process. Disgraceful disinformation keeps coming.

The Times: “The origin of the attack is a matter of consensus among American intelligence agencies.”

Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, orchestrated the scam - to delegitimize Trump and denigrate Russia.

With attribution to Trump about Moscow on the witch-hunt Russiagate hoax, US intelligence community heads are “laughing their asses off” at how easily they fooled most Americans - unaware they’ve been scammed.

The Times: “The current president of the United States refuses to acknowledge the attack, refuses to respond to it and refuses to help protect the country against a likely follow-up attack.”

How can he or anyone else respond to what never happened? America notoriously interferes in the internal affairs of most countries, in the elections of scores of them, aiming to assure their leaders are subservient to US interests.

Russia works cooperatively with other nations, world’s apart from how Washington operates.

The Times: “In the wake of the” Parkland, Florida shootings, Trump “falsely claimed that the FBI failed to prevent the massacre because it was too occupied with the Russia investigation.”

“In doing so, he repeated his frequent lie that the Russian operation did not exist.”

It’s unclear what, if any involvement the FBI had in the incident. Secret Service agents visited the Parkland high school weeks before it occurred. Why is unclear.

Indeed no Russia interference in America’s election happened, nor does any evidence suggest it intends meddling ahead.

The Times: “There is no longer any doubt that President Trump is failing to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, as he solemnly swore to do.”

“There is no…doubt” that most, perhaps all, US presidents breached their oath of office, some more grievously than others - from George Washington to Donald Trump, war crimes their most serious offenses.

Don’t expect the Times or other media scoundrels to explain it.
