Russia About to Invade Ukraine…Again?

Journalist AJ Liebling (1904 - 1963) once said “(p)eople everywhere confuse what they read in newspapers with news.”
He likely had the NYT and Washington Post in mind. Both broadsheets and virtually all other Western mainstream ones feature a daily diet of managed news misinformation and disinformation on major domestic and geopolitical issues.
The US considers Russia its main foreign adversary, the Kremlin accused of all sorts of things it had nothing to do with - the latest one in the Black Sea’s Kerch Strait.
Moscow was falsely blamed for the November 25 likely US/UK-orchestrated hostile act by Ukraine, flagrantly breaching the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
WaPo editors lied, claiming Ukrainian vessels “were passing through international waters (sic) near the occupied Crimean Peninsula (sic)” - two Big Lies in one sentence, adding:
“…Russian forces…are massed near Crimea’s border with eastern Ukraine (sic), prompting warnings from the Ukrainian government as well as independent observers (sic) that…Putin may be planning a new attack (sic) on the country” - calling on Trump to “actively deter (nonexistent past or) further aggression.”
WaPo’s accusation is pure rubbish, part of its endless Russia bashing campaign, along with the rest of America’s major media, misinforming and disinforming news consumers, suppressing what’s vital to report.
Weeks earlier, US-installed puppet Ukrainian president Poroshenko lied, claiming Russia deployed “more than 80,000 troops, 1,400 artillery and multiple rocket launch systems, 900 tanks, 2,300 armored combat vehicles, 500 aircraft and 300 helicopters” along the 1,500 mile land and sea border between both countries - ready to invade Ukraine.
No Russian invasion is coming. No deployment of its forces exists – other than when engaged in defensive military exercises. Unlike US-dominated NATO, conducting provocative drills near Russian, Chinese, and North Korean borders, Russian military exercises are held in its own territory, threatening no one – not Ukraine or any other countries.
Putin calls the US-installed regime in Kiev the “party of war,” more incidents like the Kerch Strait provocation surely coming - planned, supported, and encouraged by Washington.
WaPo turned truth on its head, blaming Russia for Kiev’s Kerch Strait provocation. On December 23, the neocon Institute for the Study of War falsely accused Moscow of mobilizing forces along the Crimean/Ukraine border, suggesting “Putin is preparing to attack” - a bald-faced lie repeated by WaPo, adding:
He “has motive to escalate his war against Ukraine (sic), which has been simmering for several years (sic). He is eager to undermine Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (sic), who faces a reelection contest in the spring.”
“(H)e may believe that Mr. Trump, who lately has been loudly repudiating a US role as ‘the policeman of the world,’ is in no mood to defend a remote piece of Ukraine from Russian tanks.”
Fact: No Russian war with Ukraine exists, nothing “simmering” in Moscow in preparation for a cross-border attack.
Fact: Poroshenko is overwhelming despised domestically, his approval rating in the single digits.
His only chance to remain puppet president is by cancelling the March presidential election. If legitimately held, he’ll be resoundingly defeated.
Unlike the US, no evidence suggests Russian Federation meddling in the internal affairs of other countries - earlier or planned.
WaPo called for tougher US actions on Russia than already, including more illegal sanctions and provocatively increasing the Pentagon’s military presence near its land and sea borders - barely stopping short of urging war.
WaPo: It’s “in Mr. Trump’s interest to make clear to Moscow that any further attacks will trigger a strong response from the United States.”
Washington’s agenda toward Moscow in the new year may be more hostile than already.
There’s virtually no chance for improved relations - a greater chance for confrontation between the world’s dominant nuclear powers, a frightening prospect if US hardliners push things too far.
