Putin Sneaking Up on Europe from the South?

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

US media scoundrels and think tank extremists wage endless rhetorical war on Russia and Vladimir Putin, vilifying the country and its leader.

Dark forces in Washington want Russia transformed into another US vassal state – headed by a puppet they appoint, doing their bidding.

It worked during the deplorable Yeltsin years following Soviet Russia’s dissolution. Things changed dramatically when Putin succeeded him.

His geopolitical agenda is polar opposite Washington’s, why he’s disgracefully denigrated, all sorts of rubbish reported about him – state-sponsored propaganda proliferated by media scoundrels and think tank extremists.

Steven A. Cook is a senior fellow  for Middle East and Africa studies at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) – a globalist organization committed to one-world government headquartered in Washington.

Historian Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. called it a “front organization (for) the heart of the American Establishment.” It meets privately, publishing only what it wants the public to know, suppressing what’s most important.

Since its founding nearly a century ago, CFR served as a virtual employment agency for Washington under Republicans and undemocratic Dems.

According to Cook, “Putin is sneaking up on Europe from the South.” Russia is a Eurasian country, “sneaking up” on no one.

Putin seeks normalized relations with Washington, the West, and all other countries. He opposes US-dominated NATO’s imperial agenda, its endless wars of aggression, its aim for dominion over planet earth, its resources and populations.

His peace and stability advocacy is polar opposite Washington’s rage for endless wars, smashing one nation after another, massacring millions, an endless cycle of naked aggression on humanity.

Cook turned truth on its head, claiming Russia’s grand plan involves “establish(ing) influence at Washington’s expense, weakening the US position in the (Middle East), and in the process apply pressure on Europe via its weak underbelly – in this case to the south and southeast of the European Union.”

Cook and others like him have things backwards. Putin seeks rapprochement with the West, not dominance over any other countries – a US/NATO/Israeli specialty, not Russia’s.

In 1961, General Curtis LeMay believed nuclear war with Soviet Russia was inevitable. He wanted thousands of missiles launched preemptively – calling retaliation against major US cities a small price to pay.

During a National Security Council meeting, Jack Kennedy walked out in disgust in response to General Lyman Lemnitzer urging a surprise nuclear attack on Russia.

Kennedy wanted none of it, telling Secretary of State Dean Rusk: “And we call ourselves the human race.”

Secretary of Defense McNamara rejected what LeMay and Lemnitzer urged. Other extremists then and later supported the same lunacy.

During the 1960s, US plans for nuclear war on Russia and China were drafted, according to newly released classified documents, wanting “viable societies” in both countries destroyed, massacring countless millions.

Joint Chiefs of Staff generals considered “population loss as the primary yardstick for effectiveness in destroying the enemy society with only collateral attention to industrial damage.”

As long as important civilian sectors of societies were eliminated, US control over Russia and China could be achieved with their industrial capacity largely intact.

Similar plans may exist today. Both countries are the only ones standing in the way of unchallenged US global dominance.

Sino/Russian military preparedness is for defense, not naked aggression the way US-dominated NATO and Israel operate.

Russia isn’t “sneaking up” on anyone. Washington and its imperial partners are “sneaking up” on everyone – endless wars of aggression on their drawing board to be waged, willing to risk destroying planet earth to control it.
