NYT Disinformation on Syria
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Times reports on US imperial wars read like Pentagon press releases – sources quoted and cited a virtual Noah’s Ark of scam artists, masquerading as legitimate ones.
US-led Western media reporting on US war in Syria is some of the worst in memory. In just societies, it would be called scandalous – a despicable litany of disinformation, fake news and Big Lies, truth and full disclosure suppressed.
The NYT and other media scoundrels support all US wars of aggression, mindless of their lawlessness and the horrific human toll.
The business of America is war, waged endlessly in multiple theaters, media scoundrels complicit for supporting what demands condemnation, endorsing Washington’s regime change agenda.
On Wednesday, the Times disgracefully blamed Russia and Syria for terror-bombing high crimes committed by Pentagon-led so-called “coalition” warplanes – like it’s done many times before.
It continues calling US aggression “civil war,” US-supported cutthroat killers referred to as “rebels.”
“(I)n the past week alone, the government’s Russian-backed air war has damaged several hospitals and clinics and killed dozens of people, including many civilians,” the Times misreported.
Fact: US-led terror-bombing bears full responsibility for massacring civilians, targeting hospitals and clinics, residential neighborhoods, schools, mosques, and vital infrastructure.
Fact: ISIS and other US-supported terrorists share blame for years of carnage and devastation.
Fact: Times readers have been consistently lied to throughout the war. The same goes for other Western media scoundrels.
The Times: “As the violence crescendos the government has not authorized a single aid delivery to besieged areas, or an evacuation for urgent medical treatment, in two months, United Nations officials say.”
Fact: They lied. So did the Times. Russia, Iran and Damascus alone provide vital humanitarian aid to beleaguered Syrians – nothing from America, nothing from other Western countries, nothing from the UN – except to terrorists in areas they control.
Appointed by Washington, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres serves US imperial interests.
The same goes for Syrian crisis UN humanitarian coordinator Panos Moumtzis – quoted by the Times, falsely accusing Syria of failed “humanitarian diplomacy.”
The Times: “The government is carrying out scorched-earth attacks in two of the last major rebel-held areas – near Damascus and in Idlib…”
Fact: Syria and Russia are combating ISIS and other terrorists Washington and its rogue allies support.
Instead of reporting accurately on what’s going on in Syria, the Times features US-led Western propaganda, suppressing hard truths about years of devastating war showing no signs of ending.
