Fake News UN Report on North Korea and Syria
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The UN under Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and most of his predecessors operates as Washington’s imperial ally – flagrantly violating its Charter principles.
An unreleased world body report, shared with the NYT, irresponsibly suggested North Korea may be helping Syria produce chemical weapons.
Its entire CW stockpile was destroyed, elimination completed in late June 2014 – confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
No evidence suggests any CWs remain. Nothing indicates Syria ever used these agents throughout seven years of war – or intends secretly producing new ones.
Plenty of damning evidence shows US-supported terrorists used toxic agents numerous times, mostly against defenseless civilians – Syria falsely blamed for their high crimes.
Recent and earlier accusations and allegations of Syrian use of CWs were and remain bald-faced lies.
Citing from the UN report, the Times said “supplies from North Korea include acid-resistant tiles, valves and thermometers,” adding:
“North Korean missile technicians have also been spotted working at known chemical weapons and missile facilities inside Syria…”
None exist. The report lied claiming otherwise. It’s unknown when the UN report will be released. Unnamed so-called “experts” were involved in preparing it.
Clearly it was produced to give Washington and its rogue partners red meat ammunition to use as justification for stiffer sanctions and possible aggression against North Korea, along with likely escalating conflict in Syria more than already.
The Times: “(E)xperts who viewed the report said the evidence it cited did not prove definitively that there was current, continuing collaboration between North Korea and Syria on chemical weapons…”
If no evidence proves a North Korean/Syrian connection to produce CWs, why did the UN release the report to the NYT – letting it falsely headline “UN Links North Korea to Syria’s Chemical Weapons Program.”
No Syrian CW program exists. Nothing proves otherwise. Yet the NYT, complicit with anti-North Korea/anti-Syria UN authorities, gave Washington and its imperial partners false testimony about both countries.
Is the world body under Guterres promoting war – instead of trying to “save succeeding generations from (its) scourge,” as mandated in its Charter?
Is it on the side of the devil, not the angels? Throughout its existence, the UN most often served as a US imperial tool, notably in recent decades.
Is Guterres committed to exceeding the worst of his predecessors?
Will he match Star Trek by going where no previous secretary-general went before – overtly or discreetly supporting US-led naked aggression instead of responsibly denouncing it!
