Venezuelan Chavistas v. US Coup Plotters

Washington is the world capital of coup plotting, part of the diabolical US scheme to forcefully advance its imperium worldwide — at the expense of peace, equity and justice, notions abhorred in the nation’s capital.

On Tuesday, the latest chapter in the Trump regime’s plot to eliminate Venezuelan social democracy unfolded — cheerled by its neocon hardliners, events in the Bolivarian Republic orchestrated in Washington.

Mike Pence tweeted: “To (US convenient stooge) @jguaido, the National Assembly and all the freedom-loving people of Venezuela (sic) (involved in the latest Trump regime coup plot chapter): We are with you! America will stand with you until” fascist tyranny replaces Venezuelan social democracy — my truth-telling reality check correcting his Big Lies.

Pompeo tweeted the following: “Today interim president Juan Guaido (sic) announced start of Operacion Libertad (sic). The US Government fully supports the Venezuelan people in their quest for freedom and democracy (sic). Democracy cannot be defeated (sic).”

Not to be left out, John Bolton tweeted: “Venezuelans have made clear that the current path toward democracy is irreversible (sic). Venezuela’s military has a choice: embrace democracy (sic), protect civilians and members of the democratically-elected National Assembly (sic), or face more man-made suffering and isolation (sic).”

Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza denounced the Trump regime’s latest coup plot chapter, especially remarks by Pompeo, saying he “makes a spectacle of diplomacy, by promoting and financing a violent coup in Venezuela. Washington’s obsession with controlling Venezuela’s oil wealth leads them to clumsiness.”

Separately, he said “(w)e inform the people of Venezuela that we are currently confronting and deactivating a small group of traitorous military personnel who positioned themselves in the Altamira Distributor to promote a coup d'état against the Constitution and the peace of the Republic.”

“This attempt was joined by the murderous far-right…We call on the people to remain on high alert to, together with the glorious Bolivarian National Armed Forces, defeat the coup attempt and preserve peace.”

“We denounce to the international community the support of the Colombian government for this new coup attempt in Venezuela. From Washington and Bogota, all the last months’ unsuccessful unconstitutional actions in Venezuela have been planned.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry denounced US-led Western media for supporting the Trump regime’s coup plot in Venezuela.

The Ministry also accused Guaido of brazenly attempting to instigate clashes with Venezuela’s military loyal to Maduro and Bolivarian social democracy, part of the Trump regime’s coup plot, a statement saying:

“The radical opposition in Venezuela has once again returned to violent methods of confrontation. Instead of peacefully settling political differences, they have taken a course designed to whip up conflict, and provoke breaches of public order and clashes involving the armed forces.”

Last Thursday, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin accused the US and other Western countries of wanting to “carv(e) Venezuela up like Libya and Syria” to destabilize the Latin America more than already by its hostile actions.

Bolivian President Evo Morales issued a statement, saying “(w)e strongly condemn the coup attempt in Venezuela performed by the right wing, which is submissive to foreign interests. Confident that the courageous Bolivarian Revolution at the head of the brother Nicolas Maduro, will be imposed on this new attack of the empire.”

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel slammed what’s going on, saying “(w)e reject this coup that aims to fill the country with violence. The traitors who have placed themselves at the forefront of this subversive movement have used troops and police with weapons of war on a public road in the city to create anxiety and terror.”

Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez added “(w)e strongly condemn the attempted coup d’etat in Venezuela. Firm support and solidarity from Cuba to the Constitutional President of that sister nation, Nicolas Maduro, to his government and to the Bolivarian and Chavista people.”

Mexican President Manuel Andres Lopez Obrador said his country “reiterates its desire and commitment to finding a peaceful, democratic and dialogue-based solution to this crisis, always privileging unrestricted respect for human rights,” adding: 

“Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consultations are being held with the other 16 Montevideo Mechanism countries in order to find a common route.”

A Final Comment

Activists calling themselves the Embassy Protection Collective (EPC) support Venezuela’s legitimate government and social democracy.

They’ve been living in, protecting, and aiding the skeleton diplomatic staff remaining in the country’s Washington embassy.

Ordered out by Trump regime hardliners, they held firm, supported by Venezuela’s government, thanking them for courageous activism against the US attempt to illegally seize control of the facility — a flagrant Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, US Constitution, and UN Charter breach if occurs anywhere.

Embassies, consulates, and other diplomatic facilities in host countries are sovereign territory of nations operating them.

UN Charter Article 2(4) states: “All members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations” – what the US does repeatedly.

On Tuesday, over two dozen police blocked the entrance to Venezuela’s Washington embassy, intending to forcefully seize it and arrest defenders inside.

The assault on the embassy is happening on the same day as the Trump regime latest coup attempt efforts in Venezuela.

What’s going on in both countries reflects what the scourge of US imperial viciousness is all about.
