Trump in China

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

Following discussions with President Xi Jinping, both leaders signed commercial deals worth over $250 billion.

Xi called them “two-way investment agreements.” Both leaders agreed to cooperate on other major issues, notably North Korea. China absolutely wants war avoided, Xi stressing the need for solutions “through peaceful communication and consultation.”

Trump bashed Pyongyang, saying “the entire civilized world must unite to confront the North Korean menace.”

Fact: The only major one is headquartered in Washington – with satellite operations in NATO and other rogue states.

Trump: “Today, President Xi – we discussed our mutual commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea. We agreed not to replicate failed approaches of the past, and there were many.”

“We agreed on the need to fully implement all UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea and to increase economic pressure until North Korea abandons its reckless and dangerous path.”

Fact: As long as US aggression remains a major threat, Pyongyang will continue developing its most important deterrents. They’re non-negotiable.

Trump: “All responsible nations must join together to stop arming and financing – and even trading with – the murderous North Korean regime.”

“Together, we have in our power to finally liberate this region and the world from this very serious nuclear menace. But it will require collective action, collective strength, and collective devotion to winning the peace.”

Fact: “Murderous” describes the US regime, not North Korea.

Fact: US-style liberation involves mass slaughter and destruction wherever its forces show up.

Fact: Washington has no interest in “winning the peace” it deplores, committed to waging endless wars of aggression against one country after another.

Trump: “…President Xi and I also committed to working toward a peaceful future for Afghanistan. Terrorists are a threat to all of humanity, and we will stop radical Islamic terrorism.”

Fact: America is waging forever war on Afghanistan. It created and supports the terrorist scourge Trump falsely claims it opposes.

Trump: “Today, I discussed with President Xi the chronic imbalance in our relationship as it pertains to trade, and the concrete steps that we’ll jointly take to solve the problem of the massive trade distortion.”

Fact: As long as US companies continue offshoring jobs to China and other low-wage countries, the trade imbalance won’t be resolved.

Trump: “The United States, working with China and other regional partners, has an incredible opportunity to advance the cause of peace, security, and prosperity all across the world.”

America talks peace while waging endless wars of aggression – whether Republicans or undemocratic Dems control the White House and Congress.

Its war on humanity is the greatest threat to life on earth – gravely threatened by its rage for dominance over all other countries.
