NYT Media War on Trump and Putin
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Bashing Trump is largely because he defeated media darling Hillary, along with not joining the Russia bashing crowd, certainly not enthusiastically.
The Times is especially unforgiving, virtually having served as Hillary’s press agent throughout the 2016 presidential campaign – one-sidedly supporting her, ignoring her high crimes, relentlessly vilifying Trump for the wrong reasons.
The Times: “The West’s response to Russian aggression (sic) has usually been too little, too late, and devoid of the one voice that really matters – President Trump’s.”
Fact: No “Russian aggression” exists – not in Ukraine, Syria or anywhere else, polar opposite how Washington and its imperial partners operate, permanently at war on humanity, responsible for high crimes of war and against humanity in multiple theaters.
The Times: “(A)t last…Trump has spoken out, tentatively. On Thursday the Treasury Department announced it was imposing sanctions for the Kremlin’s interference in the 2016 election.”
“Officials have denounced the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain and Russia’s devastating bombing missions in Syria.”
Fact: Sanctions imposed were flagrantly illegal, the Times failed to explain.
Fact: No Russian interference in America’s electoral process occurred, or against any other nation – a US specialty, not a Kremlin one.
Fact: Russia had nothing to do with Sergey Skripal’s poisoning. No evidence indicates otherwise.
Fact: Russia is combating US-supported terrorists in Syria. Pentagon-led terror-bombing is responsible for massacring civilians in the country and elsewhere – along with atrocities committed by ISIS and likeminded groups Washington supports.
The Times demands a “more robust, unified response from the United States and its NATO allies” against Vladimir Putin. Calling his actions “heinous” is a bald-faced lie.
The Times disgracefully accused Moscow of hacking into “American power plants and the computer networks that control power grids…for eventual sabotage.”
Not a shred of evidence suggest it! Nothing of the kind occurred. Nothing suggests it’s planned.
Trump shamefully went along with UK Big Lies, disgracefully blaming Russia for Skripal’s poisoning, saying “(i)t certainly looks like the Russians were behind it,” adding “(w)e’re taking it very seriously…”
The Times lied calling Vladimir Putin “an authoritarian leader.” It lied accusing him of “aggressions.”
It lied saying Russia “annex(ed) Crimea. It lied accusing Moscow of destabilizing other parts of Ukraine.”
It lied suggesting Russia’s military campaign is other than a mission to eliminate the country’s terrorist infestation.
It disgracefully urged tougher US financial and diplomatic measures “to rein…in” Putin.
It barely stopped short of calling for war on Russia – maybe in a future editorial.
The self-styled newspaper of record is a national disgrace, a propaganda vehicle, a lying machine, truth-telling on major issues prohibited, especially on geopolitical ones.
