Dismal Russia/US Relations

Bilateral relations are irreconcilable as long as bipartisan Russophobic neocons influence US policymaking.
Russia/US relations are the most dismal in decades, I believe worse than any time during the Cold War when MAD (mutually assured destruction) prevented the unthinkable.
Things today are dangerously worsening, not improving, a clash between the world’s dominant nuclear power inevitable if Moscow remains passive, failing to challenge US bullying.
Washington considers Russia its main adversary. Both countries aren’t partners, the myth Moscow continues to claim.
The geopolitical agendas of both nations are world’s apart. Russia pursues world peace, stability, mutual cooperation among all nations, and multi-world polarity.
America seeks unchallenged global dominance, wars of aggression its favored strategy. Talks between both countries accomplish nothing. Russia’s word is its bond. America breaches virtually all agreements made.
Moscow continues ineffective diplomatic outreach, failing to reach accommodation with Washington on vital issues.
I believe candidate Trump genuinely wanted improved relations. Once in office, he was co-opted to continue hostile relations, forced to let them deteriorate further.
He’s a businessman focused on profit-making, largely ignorant of geopolitics, influenced by hawkish generals, other administration extremists, GOP neocons, and Russophobic media he follows – hostage to their agenda, perhaps mindless about the risk of nuclear war he’s failing to prevent.
I’ve said many times that today is the most perilous time in world history. US catastrophic nuclear war against one or more countries is possible, maybe inevitable, by accident or design, an armageddon scenario if launched against Russia or China.
The same perhaps holds if Washington attacks North Korea and/or Iran with nukes, risking Sino/Russian intervention to protect their security – the way WW I and II became major conflicts.
Is another global war inevitable? In congressional testimony during the 1980s, founder of America’s nuclear navy Admiral Hyman Rickover explained the danger, saying when nations go to war, they’ll use all weapons in their arsenal necessary to win.
WW III will be nuclear war, risking humanity’s survival is launched. At lease since the 1960s, lunatics in Washington believed America could nuke Russia and win.
Their modern-day counterparts likely believe the same thing, events heading toward the unthinkable if Washington’s imperial agenda isn’t forcefully challenged and stopped to prevent possible nuclear armageddon.
Remarks by Russia’s ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov weren’t helpful, saying “(w)e are destined for cooperation with the US.”
Bilateral relations have been adversarial for over 100 years, except for brief periods during WW II and the late 1980s.
There’s no prospect for improvement now. Believing otherwise is foolhardy. Washington takes full advantage of Moscow’s outreach to serve its own interests exclusively.
It pays no heed to Russia’s UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya, saying America’s presence in Syria is “illegal…Nobody invited them there,” conflict resolution jeopardized by its actions.
Sophisticated Russian S-400 air defense systems control Syrian airspace. Yet its military hasn’t used them to deter US aggression, encouraging its escalation, making conflict resolution unattainable.
Washington wants all sovereign independent nations transformed into US vassal states, mainly Russia and China, the only countries able to effectively challenge its hegemonic ambitions.
On Thursday, Sergey Lavrov acknowledged the fact that Washington aims “to turn Russia into a country under its control,” adding:
“Such attempts are doomed to failure. Isolating Russia, making it sacrifice its principles, and solving their problems at our expense are not going to work.”
Hopefully he’s right. Perhaps not unless Moscow challenges Washington’s imperial agenda forcefully, delivering a strong message it understands.
Rhetoric achieves nothing. It’s time for Russia to stop talking and start acting.
Inflicting a black eye and bloody nose on Washington are badly needed, showing US hostile actions no longer will be tolerated.
That message will be clearly understood by extremist US policymakers – likely getting them to back off, giving humanity a chance to exhale.
