Deplorable Israeli Media Propaganda

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Haaretz reporting blows hot and cold, at times delivering journalism the way it should be, then spoiling it by going the other way too often.

It deserves credit for criticizing Netanyahu’s deplorable governance, citing the danger of Zionist zealotry, and featuring reports by Amira Haas and Gideon Levy, respected journalists.

It ruins it all by reports like two discussed below.

One cites a nonexistent Assad challenge, turning truth on its head about Syria’s conflict, saying he set “his sights on (the) Golan border area,” adding:

“After the conquest of Aleppo, Dir a-Zur (Deir Ezzor) and Raqqa, the regime is ready for its next move. Israel will now have to rethink its policy.”

Fact: Assad’s government isn’t a “regime” like most other regional countries run by despots.

Fact: Golan is sovereign Syrian territory. Aleppo and elsewhere in the country freed from US/Israeli-supported terrorists weren’t “conque(red.)” They were liberated, a reason to praise its forces, allied ones and Russian airpower, not criticize what’s happened.

Assad isn’t “gearing up to expand the area (Syria’s military) controls in southern Syria near the border with Israel.” He aims to free the country entirely from US/Israeli-supported ISIS and other terrorists - Haaretz falsely called “rebels” the way Western media scoundrels describe them.

Nearly seven years of war isn’t “civil” as Haaretz and Western media consistently misreported throughout the conflict - launched by Obama, using imported terrorists as imperial foot soldiers.

Haaretz and other anti-Syrian media never explain this. Nor have they called numerous Israeli airstrikes on Syrian targets naked aggression, the highest of high crimes.

No Iranian threat exists. Yet Haaretz and Western media claim otherwise, part of their disinformation campaign.

A separate Haaretz/Reuters report deplorably accused Russia of “redraw(ing) the map in Syria,” turning truth on its head, claiming “Russian diplomacy is not seen as likely to yield a peace deal.”

Fact: Longstanding US/Israeli plans call for redrawing the Middle East map.

Fact: Russia’s agenda is polar opposite, pursuing peace and stability in Syria, willing to help Iraq achieve the same goal.

Fact: Vladimir Putin and Sergey Lavrov are the preeminent global peace champions. America and Israel support endless wars, chaos, carving up the region, and installing pro-Western regimes, subservient to their interests.

Fact: Russia indeed may not succeed in restoring peace and stability in Syria, but not by failing to go all-out for this goal, along with supporting Syrian sovereignty, territorial integrity, and right of its people alone to decide who’ll lead them.

Fact: US/Israeli goals are polar opposite, wanting regime change, installing pro-Western puppet rule, partitioning the country for easier control, along with destroying Syrian sovereignty.

Imperial ruthless defines these objectives, something Haaretz and Western media never explain.

Instead, they blame Syria for high crimes committed against the state, failing to praise its liberating efforts, along with paying tribute to Russia for its efforts, turning the tide of battle against the scourge of terrorism Washington and Israel support.

When it comes to Syria and other major geopolitical issues, Haaretz (most often) and Western media (all the time) suppress what’s most important to report - substituting disgraceful disinformation and fake news.
