The Blame Game Against Russia

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Since the Obama regime’s coup in Ukraine, replacing its democratically elected government with illegitimate Nazi-infested putschists, Russia has been falsely blamed for all sorts of things it had nothing to do with.

Russophobes in America won’t quit. August 11 and 12 mark the anniversary last year’s Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA.

Things turned violent, a female counter-protester killed, many others injured. Removal of a Confederate monument was a pretext for what happened. Anything could have ignited violence.

It’s symptomatic of a nation permanently at war on humanity, including at home against political critics; anti-war, environmental, human and civil rights activists; unwanted aliens of color or the wrong religion from the wrong countries; and the nation’s most disadvantaged.

Serving Wall Street and America’s military/industrial/security complex, one nation after another is raped and destroyed, inner city minority communities turned into battlegrounds.

Overnight Friday and Saturday in Chicago alone, gunfire killed two individuals, another 18 wounded.

Last weekend, at least 74 people were shot with live fire, 12 killed. Inner city Chicago is a war zone. The same goes for other US cities.

According to neocon Rep. Tom Garrett, Russia was responsible for what happened in Charlottesville last August.

He falsely claimed the Kremlin was involved in “fomenting the flames of” violence in the city, claiming FBI director Christopher Wray blamed the Russians, saying:

“I sat in a closed session briefing probably two months ago about Charlottesville with the director of the FBI, amongst others, and asked if Russian inter-meddling had to do with fomenting the flames of what happened in Charlottesville. I was told yes, it did,” adding:

Moscow is “seeking to pit Americans against Americans to undermine confidence in Western-style democracies.”

The above accusations are bald-faced lies. Not a shred of evidence proves them. No Western democracies exist to undermine, notably not in America, a plutocratic totalitarian police state.

At a July Aspen, Colorado Security Forum, Wray turned truth on its head claiming:

“Along the lines of the question about Charlottesville, for example, to the extent that we have domestic terrorism in this country that is spun up by various ideologies, foreign influence is being used, in many ways, to capitalize on that and spin up domestic extremist movements to create terrorist attacks here inside.”

Last October, Wall Street Journal disinformation claimed “Russia-linked Facebook pages pushed divisions after (the 2016) election, including on Charlottesville.”

All accusations against Russia post the US-orchestrated February 2014 Ukraine coup were baseless, no evidence proving any of them.

The Russians did it Big Lie has a life of its own - mainly because the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, CNN, NPR, and other media scoundrels report rubbish, suppressing hard truths on major issues.

Russia had nothing to do with everything it’s been accused of. America needs enemies to justify its permanent war agenda.

None exist so they’re invented, Russia bashed most of all. All sovereign independent states are on Washington’s target list for regime change.

That’s what ruthless US imperial hubris and arrogance are all about.
