Virtually Everything Trump Says Lacks Credibility

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

He’s a front man for dark forces running things in Washington - a real estate businessman, television personality, America’s first Reality TV president, a geopolitical know-nothing.

He knows little more than rubbish fed him by hardline handlers, along with Fox News disinformation and Big Lies, his favorite TV channel.

He disdains reading, preferring oral communications in simple language. Pre-inauguration, he admitted liking “bullets or…as little as possible” in print.

Earlier reports said he spends hours daily watching TV, mostly cable news disinformation - Fox and Friends along with its prime time shows his favorites.

Time magazine said he has a 60-inch flat screen TV installed in his private White House dining room. When asked about his television-watching habits, he claimed spending little time on it, once saying it’s because he’s busy “reading documents” he shuns.

Pre-inauguration, he said “I don’t need…200-page reports on something that can be handled on a page. That I can tell you.”

His team was instructed to keep policy explanations as brief and simple as possible. Let others focus on details he lacks interest in.

He’s a businessman, TV personality, way out of his depth on all things political and geopolitical. Running the country as president is world’s apart from the Trump organization.

Most presidential aspirants have little understanding of what the job entails. There’s no preparation it, far different from other political positions, why key aides are needed on virtually all domestic and foreign policy issues.

Controlled by extremist key ones, Trump is clueless about disastrous US foreign policies preceding him and on his watch, mindless of the human toll, knowing enough about trillions of dollars wasted but doing nothing to change things - waste, fraud and abuse on his watch more extreme than under his predecessors.

Nothing he says is credible. He’s all bluster, bravado and dissembling, never letting facts interfere with his rants, undeserving of trust by everyone, more a caricature of a leader than real one - unapologetically racist, Islamophobic and belligerent, disdainful toward ordinary people while pretending otherwise.

His summits with Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping earlier and on Saturday achieved nothing, just the illusion of accomplishment.

Trump lied, asking South Korean President Moon Jae-in to tell Kim he’s ready to implement matters he values most - what no US policymakers ever did for North Korea throughout the entire post-WW II era.

Trump for sure won’t be the first to change longstanding hostile US policies against Pyongyang. Agreement between Kim and Trump last June began unravelling straightaway after summit talks.

The DPRK’s Foreign Ministry slammed the Trump regime for failing to implement what was agreed on - making unacceptable demands, offering nothing in return but empty promises, wanting more sanctions on Pyongyang instead of agreeing to lift what never should have been imposed in the first place.

North Korean diplomats are furious over Trump regime hardliners, getting the UN’s human rights committee to adopt a resolution, condemning what it called the DPRK’s “longstanding and ongoing systematic, widespread and gross violations of human rights.”

A US-called Security Council session will be held in the coming days, focusing on North Korean human rights - the world body never addressing repeated US, NATO, or Israeli high crimes of war, against humanity and genocide against targeted countries.

Throughout its post-WW II history, North Korea never attacked another country. Its government and people deserve far better from the world community than they’ve ever gotten - because Washington demands toughness on the country.

Trump’s summit talks with Kim proved more of a millstone than milestone, the DPRK achieving nothing positive from them.

Nor is anything not forthcoming so far expected ahead. It may be just a matter of time before “fire and fury” against the North resurfaces.

After caving to Russophobes in Buenos Aires and accomplishing nothing with China’s Xi, Trump turned truth on its head tweeting he’s “certain that, at some time in the future, President Xi and I, together with President Putin of Russia, will start talking about a meaningful halt to what has become a major and uncontrollable Arms Race. The US spent 716 Billion Dollars this year. Crazy!”

Trump’s National Defense Strategy called for large increases in military spending. War secretary Mattis earlier turned truth on its head, saying it’s “required to protect our way of life” - at a time America’s only enemies are invented ones, he failed to explain.

Straightaway in office last year, Trump sought what he called a “historic” increase in military spending - for what he called “an unprecedented range and mix of threats” posed by other nations - threatening no one, he failed to explain.

In October, he vowed to outspend other nations in building up Washington’s nuclear arsenal, saying “(w)e have more money than anybody else, by far. We’ll build it up.”

He escalated world tensions, heightening insecurity by pulling out of the JCPOA, abandoning the INF Treaty to follow - both unacceptable policies based on Big Lies.

Following his meeting with Xi in Buenos Aires, he lied calling it “extraordinary,” adding “(r)elations with China have taken a big leap forward!”

“Very good things will happen. We are dealing from great strength, but China likewise has much to gain if and when a deal is completed.”

Irreconcilable differences between both countries are too world’s apart to resolve. Trump bought time for more discussions, highly unlikely to achieve what multiple earlier rounds failed to accomplish.

Hostility between both countries is virtually sure to rear its ugly head again in the new year. It does every time US warships and warplanes provocatively sail near or overfly close to Chinese territory - what happened just ahead of Xi/Trump summit talks.

What’s gone on numerous times before is virtually certain to continue ahead.

Trump’s claims about domestic and geopolitical accomplishments fly in the face of reality. His anti-populist, geopolitical aggression speak for themselves.

Ignore what he says. Follow only what he does. His rhetoric and policies are world’s apart.
