Victim of US Viciousness Aafia Siddiqui: Alive or Dead?

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Siddiqui is a US war OF terror victim - her horrendous ordeal what no one should ever have to endure.

Her “crime” was being Muslim in America at the wrong time, arrested, detained, and brutalized on fabricated terrorist charges.

Friends and family called her quiet, polite, soft-spoken, religious and shy, a brilliant well-educated Pakistani American, an MIT graduate, a Brandeis University PhD in neurocognitive science.

She taught young Muslim children on Sundays. Her greatest passion was helping oppressed Muslims worldwide.

She was falsely called an al-Qaeda operative and facilitator, outrageously accused of involvement in biochemical warfare, including planned attacks against the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, and Wall Street - along with terrorist recruiting and other phony charges, not a shred of evidence supporting any of them.

On March 30, 2003, her ordeal began. On orders from Washington, Pakistani authorities arrested and detained her while home visiting relatives - disappeared for over a year with no information on her whereabouts released.

Later she was turned over to US authorities after Pakistan’s Interior Ministry found no links between her and al-Qaeda. None ever existed - the terrorist group US created and supported.

At US black site prisons, Siddiqui was brutally tortured and raped, a brilliant, caring woman guilty of no criminal offense transformed into a zombie from her horrific ordeal.

She was later falsely charged with trying to shoot US army personnel, her court-appointed attorney calling the charge “absurd.”

Reportedly in the presence of two FBI agents, two Army interpreters, and three US Army officers, this frail 110-pound woman was falsely accused of assaulting three of them, seizing one of their rifles, opening fire at point-blank range, hit no one, yet she alone was severely wounded. At trial, no evidence was presented proving charges against her.

In September 2010, she was wrongfully sentenced to 86 years in prison, a living death sentence, a life destroyed, an outrageous miscarriage of justice, a high crime against humanity, compounding years of appalling mistreatment.

Her trial attorney said the judgment against her was “based on fear, not fact(s)” - no evidence backing fabricated prosecutorial accusations.

Washington’s global war on terror is US war OF terror on humanity at home and abroad, Siddiqui one of countless victims, most others nameless and faceless except to family members.

Following Soviet Russia’s 1991 dissolution, Muslims became Washington’s enemy of choice domestically and in countries targeted for regime change.

An appendage of US war OF terror, Pakistan was complicit in Siddiqui’s horrendous mistreatment - begun over 13 years ago.

On June 7, Pakistan’s Supreme Court directed government authorities to contact their US counterparts over Siddiqui’s reported death.

Pakistan’s attorney general said she’s alive. The nation’s High Court wants a certificate proving her status one way or the other.

Siddiqui’s sister Fauzia filed a court petition seeking information on her status. It’s unclear if she’s alive or dead.

Death is likely her only option to be free at last from appalling US barbarism - viciousness no one should ever have to endure.
