Trump Unleashed: Bravado and Bluster in Britain

Trump isn’t shy about offending people - ordinary people everywhere most of all, his extremist agenda opposed to peace, equity and justice, what they cherish most.
Serving privileged interests exclusively, America’s first Reality TV president exceeds the extremism of his predecessors.
His America first rage increasingly isolates the US, at odds with many of his counterparts on various issues.
He insulted Germany’s Angela Merkel, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, Mexico’s Enrique Nieto, and Britain’s Theresa May - earlier calling her a “bossy schoolteacher.”
Interviewed by the tabloid Sun broadsheet in London, he criticized EU countries for granting entry to people he considers unwanted aliens, ignoring the root cause of the severest refugee crisis since WW II - US-led aggression against one nation after another.
He criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan, saying he’s done “a terrible job on terror” - ignoring US state terror and support for ISIS and likeminded jihadists while pretending to combat them.
He blasted Theresa May’s soft Brexit strategy, saying “(i)f they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the UK, so it will probably kill” a US trade deal with Britain.
He praised Russophobe, Islamophobe former UK foreign minister Boris Johnson, once saying “Western liberal values are incompatible with mainstream Islam.” Trump believes he’d “make a great prime minister.”
Despite widespread protests to continue throughout his four-day UK visit, he claimed without justification that most Brits “like me a lot (because) they agree with me on immigration.”
He demanded Britain and other NATO countries spend more on defense - at a time no external enemies exist, just invented ones to unjustifiably justify prioritizing militarism and warmaking over world peace and vital homeland needs gone begging in America and other EU countries.
He blasted the EU, saying “(w)e are cracking down right now on the European Union because they have not treated the United States fairly on trading.”
“No, if they do that I would say that that would probably end a major trade relationship with the United States.”
According to the Sun, “Downing Street was left shell-shocked by (Trump’s) criticism.”
“Mrs May rushed out her own statement to hit back at the President’s claim.”
“The PM insisted: ‘We have come to an agreement at the proposal we’re putting to the European Union which absolutely delivers on the Brexit people voted for.’ “
“They voted for us to take back control of our money, our law and our borders and that’s exactly what we will do.”

When serving as home secretary, May opposed leaving the EU, saying “the economic arguments are clear. I think being part of a 500-million trading bloc is significant for us,” adding:
“If we were not in Europe, I think there would be firms and companies who would be looking to say, do they need to develop a mainland Europe presence rather than a UK presence? So I think there are definite benefits for us in economic terms.”
“There are definitely things we can do as members of the European Union that I think keep us more safe.”
These remarks are world’s apart from PM May saying “Brexit means Brexit. Britain won’t remain “half-in (and) half-out” of the EU.
That’s what soft Brexit is all about, perhaps exiting largely in name only, while mostly remaining in. Brexit Brits voted for means out, not partly alone.
Trump will conclude his four-day UK visit on Sunday - from there leaving for Monday Helsinki summit talks with Vladimir Putin.
