Trump Isn’t Moronic: He Just Sounds This Way

Like most Western and other politicians, notably the Clintons, Bush/Cheney, Obama and Netanyahu, he’s a serial liar - compounding his countless high crimes.
Nothing he says is credible. He matches or exceeds the duplicity, mendacity and arrogance of his contemporaries. He’s unapologetically racist, Islamophobic and belligerent.
He’s so addicted to dissembling, he likely no longer differentiates between truth and fiction. He’s undeserving of trust by anyone anywhere at home or abroad.
In Brussels before meeting with other NATO leaders, he criticized EU nations involved in construction of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
He sounded like John Bolton, Mike Pompeo or Nikki Haley, calling Germany a Russian captive country, roaring:
“We’re protecting Germany. We’re protecting France. We’re protecting all of these countries. And then (they) make a pipeline deal with Russia where they’re paying billions of dollars into the coffers of Russia,” adding:
“So we’re supposed to protect you against Russia and you pay billions of dollars to Russia, and I think that’s very inappropriate.”
“Germany is totally controlled by Russia cause they are getting 60 to 70% of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline.”
“Germany is a rich country. They talk about increasing (defense spending) a tiny bit by 2030. Well they could increase it immediately, tomorrow, and have no problem.”
Trump never lets hard truths interfere with his rants, bluster, bravado, and prevarications, making him more a caricature of a leader than a real one, along with being widely despised at home and abroad.
Germany is captive to Washington’s imperial agenda, permitting thousands of US forces to continue occupying the country nearly 75 years after WW II ended - unrelated to any threat either country faces.
The same goes for other EU nations, Washington pressuring and bullying them to bend to its will, the continent a virtual US colony, its sovereign independence sacrificed to a higher power.
When completed, Nord Stream 2 will run through the economic zones and territorial waters of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
It’ll be the world’s longest, most impressive underwater pipeline, covering over 1,200 km, able to deliver 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually from beneath the Baltic Sea.
The design capacity of Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 is 110 billion cubic meters of gas per year, the project scheduled for completion by late 2019.
Russia’s huge natural gas reserves and proximity to other European countries makes it a natural EU partner.
Trump lied claiming Nord Stream will undermine European energy security and stability. It’ll be the most cost-effective way of delivering natural gas to the continent, a boon for its energy consumers.
EU-led Germany rejects US attempts to sell its own cost-inefficient liquified natural gas to Europe instead of Russian gas. That’s what Trump’s opposition to Nord Stream 2 is all about.
It has nothing to do with EU security, nothing to do with so-called US protection against a fabricated Russian threat.
Trump is a front man for US imperial and monied interests - at the expense of peace, equity, justice, and cooperative relations with all other nations.
