Syrian Forces Regain Control Over Border with Jordan

Days earlier, Syrian forces regained control over the border with Israeli-occupied Golan - freeing the area from US-supported ISIS and other terrorists.

Caches of heavy weapons made in America, other NATO countries and Israel were seized.

Terrorist groups would be no match against Syrian forces without foreign-supplied heavy and other weapons, a steady flow sent them, prolonging war endlessly.

On Thursday, government forces regained control over Syria’s border with Jordan, according to chief of Russia’s General Staff Gen. Sergey Rudskoy, saying:

“Control over the Syrian-Jordanian border has been completely regained and conditions were created for resuming the activities of UN peacekeepers,” adding:

“…UN peacekeepers accompanied by Russian military police patrolled the area for the first time” since 2012.

“During the operation, Syria’s Armed Forces, supported by Russia’s Aerospace Forces, completely eradicated ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra militant groups and established control over the territory of the As-Suwayda, Daraa and Quneitra provinces.”

On Wednesday, Syrian 4th tank division troops “destroyed the last stronghold of ISIS in the southwest of Quneitra province, in the settlements of Qusayr, al-Quaya, al-Kharga.”

On Thursday, “UN peacekeepers accompanied by Russian military police patrolled the area for the first time over the past six years.”

“For a transitional period, it’s planned to create eight observation posts of the Russian Armed Forces’ military police along the Bravo line. Once the situation stabilizes, these posts will be handed over to Syrian government troops.”

According to General Rudskoy, government and allied forces liberated 3,332 square kilometers from US-supported ISIS and al-Nusra terrorists.

Control was restored over 146 settlements, 50 liberated by diplomatic negotiations.

Terrorist groups surrendered 650 pieces of heavy and other weapons, including 39 tanks, 28 armored personnel carriers, 45 anti-aircraft guns, 17 multiple rocket launch systems, 60 machine guns, 23 anti-tank missile launchers, drones, mortars and missiles.

These weapons were supplied by America, other NATO countries, Israel, the Saudis, and their rogue regional allies.

Protected by US forces at the Pentagon’s illegal al-Tanf base in southern Syria, ISIS terrorists continue conducting attacks on government forces and civilians.

According to Russian National Defense Control Center General Mikhail Mizintsev, nearly 900,000 Syrian refugees are expected to return to their home areas in the coming months.

On Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said about 1.7 million Syrian refugees indicated their desire to return home.

Crossing points from Jordan and Lebanon were set up to aid their return. The operation to liberate Daraa and Quneitra provinces in southwest Syria entirely from US-supported terrorists “is nearing completion,” Zakharova explained.

The battle to liberate northwestern Idlib province bordering Turkey looms, the last major area in the country controlled by US-supported terrorists.
