Reporters Without Borders Opposes What It Claims to Support

Reporters Without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontieres- RSF) calls itself an NGO promoting and defending press and information freedom.
Based in Paris, it has consultant UN status, claiming its missions include monitoring attacks on information and press freedom worldwide, combating censorship and laws restricting freedom of information, among other activities.
Its actions belie its high-minded claims. Its funding sources explain best - including from the anti-democratic State Department funded National Endowment for Democracy, USAID and NED funded Center for a Free Cuba, the EU, NATO, George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, the Ford Foundation, American Express, French bank Societe Generale, and Agence France-Presse, along with other government and corporate entities.
They get what they pay for - the latest example an attempt by RSF to cancel a panel discussion on the true agenda of al-Qaeda-linked White Helmets, sponsored by the Swiss Press Club, noted activist Vanessa Beeley participating.
Swiss Press Club executive director Guy Mettan said RSF, a club member, asked him to cancel the panel discussion, explaining:
“I have never seen such a thing. Now an organization that defends freedom of information is asking me to censor a press conference.”
"Usually the pressure to cancel press conferences comes from countries that are known to be dictatorships. RSF’s approach stunned me. It’s taking journalists for fools. As if they were not able to form an opinion for themselves!”
“It goes without saying that I cannot act on” its request. “It would dishonor” what press freedom is all about.
RSF’s letter to Mettan, sent by Gerard Gerard Tschopp (president) and Christiane Dubois (director), of RSF/Switzerland disgracefully called Beeley a “so-called” journalist, presenting “Russian media propaganda” - an outrageous perversion of truth.
The panel discussion was held as scheduled, featuring truth-telling on Western-funded, al-Qaeda-linked White Helmets.
Its mission isn’t humanitarian as claimed, far from it. Last February, Hollywood disgraced itself at its 89th Academy Awards ceremony - a White Helmets propaganda film honored as the past year’s best documentary short - portraying terrorists as heroes.
The group has nothing to do with civil defense as claimed, everything to do with supporting terrorism against sovereign independent Syria.
Its personnel operate in al-Nusra and ISIS controlled areas. Calling themselves volunteer rescue workers responsible for saving tens of thousands of lives is rubbish.
White Helmets have been photographed and videotaped with al-Nusra terrorists during beheadings and other atrocities.
The Swiss Press Club event explained what the group is all about. Calling them Syrian Civil Defense operatives is a disgraceful perversion of truth.
Beeley earlier said the “US and UK (led) group is essential to the propaganda stream that facilitates the continued media and political campaign against the elected Syrian government and permits the US and NATO to justify their regime of crippling economic and humanitarian sanctions against the Syrian people.”
She and other independent journalists exposed them for what they are - US/UK-led al-Qaeda-linked terrorists.
