Pence in Israel: An Extremist Netanyahu Soulmate

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

He’s arriving on Sunday evening - after visiting with Egypt’s Pinochet in Cairo, el-Sissi a fascist despot, a US favorite.

Pence also is meeting with Jordan’s king Abdullah II Sunday, before heading to Israel. During his stay, he’ll meet with Netanyahu and other rogue coalition government officials.

An originally planned stop in Bethlehem to meet with Abbas is off, cancelled after Trump’s Jerusalem declaration.

He’s persona non grata, unwelcome in Palestine. So are other Trump administration officials, dishonest brokers - wanting occupation harshness continued, Palestinians subjugated, not liberated.

On Monday, Pence will address Israel’s Knesset, a racist belligerent swamp stacked with Ziofascist extremists and religious fundamentalists.

His trip is all about pledging fealty to Israel, affirming Trump administration support for its ruthless agenda, rejecting fundamental Palestinian rights, opposing the right its people to live free from oppressive Israeli occupation.

He’ll remain in Israel until Tuesday, departing late afternoon for Washington. He represents the worst of Trump administration Ziofascist extremism.

Arab MKs intend boycotting his Knesset address. Joint (Arab) List leader Ayman Odeh tweeted:

He’s “a dangerous man with a messianic vision that includes the destruction of the entire region…even more dangerous (than Trump, a) political pyromaniac, (a) racist.”

Following Trump’s Jerusalem declaration, he said the US administration “lost its place” as a peace talks broker.

PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat reportedly saw a draft document presented to Abbas, outlining the Trump administration’s no-peace/peace plan.

It’s a proposal designed to be rejected, affording Palestinians little more than the unacceptable status quo - continued occupation harshness, Palestinians subjugated under Israel’s repressive boot.

The plan calls for Israel to retain security control over the West Bank and Jerusalem. A Palestinian state was offered in name only, a fantasy state, not a real one, East Jerusalem denied them as its capital.

Expanding settlements will remain under Israeli control, likely to be annexed as part of the Jewish state.

Borders are left unaddressed, Israel the only nation without them, so it can expand them by seizing territory not its own, including from neighboring states.

No timetable was set for talks, no deadline to complete them, no withdrawal of Israeli security forces from anywhere in the Occupied Territories, no right of return for diaspora Palestinians, no control over their own resources - no freedom, no self-determination the way it’s supposed to be, just forever subjugation.

“We have no reason to wait for an American plan that in practice will keep the status quo in place and give American legitimacy to settlements” on stolen Palestinian land, Erekat told Abbas - urging rejection of US “impose(d) dictates.”

One-sided US support for Israel intends continued unacceptable harshness for Palestinians, assuring endless subjugation, not liberation, fantasy statehood, not the real thing.
