The NYT Obsesses Over Nonexistent Russian US Election Hacking

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

No evidence suggests last year’s US presidential election or any others were hacked, by Russia or anyone else - at the federal, state or local levels.

Plenty of evidence shows election-rigging in America is longstanding, foreign powers uninvolved.

The most notorious example was in 2000 - five right-wing Supreme Court justices annulling the electoral college and popular vote, anointing GW Bush president, depriving Al Gore of the office he won.

In 2004, John Kerry defeated Bush. Election rigging gave the illegitimate incumbent a second term.

Historian Robert Caro called Lyndon Johnson’s 1948 senatorial primary win “brazen thievery.” Without it, he’d have lost and likely never become president.

Countless other examples of US electoral fraud date from the early 19th century, democracy in America pure fantasy.

US elections are exercises in deception, especially for the nation’s highest office, aspirants vetted to assure they’ll continue dirty business as usual, promising one thing, delivering continuity - Trump Exhibit A, his agenda polar opposite his campaign pledges.

America’s debauched political system needs addressing, not phony accusations of Russian hacking. Not a shred of evidence proves it.

Yet the NYT and other media scoundrels keep beating this dead horse - to their disgrace.

The Times: “As Washington ignores the danger, state election officials have finally begun facing up to the threat of Russian hackers and other troublemakers infiltrating the American voting process in the midterm and presidential elections.”

Fact: No evidence suggests the credibility of any of the above claims. America’s deplorable electoral process needs cleaning up internally, not from any external threats.

So-called “stern warnings” of hacking by “federal security experts” are phony. No “blatant (Kremlin) intrusion” occurred last year or earlier.

Nothing “cries out” for protecting America’s electoral system from foreign interference. State officials believing Russia poses a threat are brainwashed by US intelligence community and media scoundrel lying.

The Times: “The situation cries out for national leadership as the elections approach. But voters can’t expect help from President Trump.”

“Nor are congressional Republicans any help, bent as they are on nonexistent voter fraud as a more credible challenge than Kremlin hackers.”

“Now that the states are accepting that the threat is real, they must work all the harder to protect the voting machinery that underpins the public’s confidence in democracy itself.”

As usual, The Times is wrongheaded and duplicitous. Voter fraud and other election rigging tactics are real, not nonexistent Russian hacking.

America wasn’t founded as a democracy, just the illusion of a will of the people system.

Privileged ones run things for their own self-interest, the only ones served, no others - things more abysmal and dangerous today than ever.
