Neocon Trump Advisors Urge Greater Toughness on Russia

According to the Russophobic NYT, “(s)ome senior Trump administration officials are pressing for more aggressive action toward Russia, hoping to persuade a reluctant President Trump to change his approach after a week of mass diplomatic expulsions that have driven the relationship with Moscow to its lowest point in decades.”
Fact: Russia was falsely blamed for a likely joint US/UK-orchestrated Skripal incident Moscow had nothing to do wity - part of longstanding Russia bashing, a slippery slope toward possible catastrophic nuclear war if the madness doesn’t stop.
Bilateral communications broke down. Russia’s ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said “I don’t remember such bad shape of our relations. There is a great mistrust between the United States and Russia.”
His invitations to US officials to meet at his residence were repeatedly rebuffed, he said. After months as Russian ambassador, all he got from the Trump administration was “silen(ce).”
On Friday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry blasted unacceptable US/UK-led Western abusive behavior, calling it “cynical and distasteful…stepping completely beyond the bounds of common decency.”
Of greatest concern is where things may be heading, escalating hostility toward Russia much like what preceded earlier US wars of aggression - notably against Iraq, Libya and Syria.
The growing risk of possible East/West confrontation should terrify everyone - especially with Russophobic neocons controlling Washington’s geopolitical agenda.
