The Mythical Trump/Russia Connection

When repeated ad nauseam, Big Lies take on a life of their own -drowning out hard truths.
Managed news misinformation and disinformation do the most damage, getting most people to believe pure rubbish.
Trump’s unforgivable offenses were defeating media darling Hillary and wanting improved relations with Russia.
Most US establishment media want him delegitimized for the wrong reasons and irreparably undermined - the NYT and neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post leading the print media campaign against him.
No evidence suggests an improper or illegal Trump/Russia connection. He and Putin met formally for summit talks in Helsinki, Finland last July, on the sidelines of the July 2017 G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, and at the November 2017 APEC summit in Danang, Vietnam.
Last November, they met briefly briefly in Paris during the 100th anniversary commemoration of WW I’s end. A November 2018 meeting between both leaders at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires was cancelled. They’ve spoken a number of times by phone.
Trump’s relationship with Putin has been much the same as with other world leaders. He’s met many abroad and at the White House.
He earlier said developing a friendly relationship with Putin and Russia is good for both countries. Clearly it would be good for world peace, what Moscow seeks, what Washington rejects.
In their private face-to-face meetings, it’s highly unlikely that anything out of the ordinary, improper, or illegal was discussed.
The media uproar suggesting otherwise continues, notably by the self-styled newspaper of record NYT.
In an editorial headlined “Donald Trump: The Russia File,” sounding more like a Hollywood thriller than an opinion piece, the Times criticized what it called “Trump’s bizarre pattern of behavior toward a (nation) that the Republican Party quite recently regarded as America’s chief rival,” adding:
“(I)t’s unnerving that more people — particularly in the leadership of the Republican Party — aren’t alarmed by Mr. Trump’s secretive communications with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and reliance on his word over the conclusions of American intelligence agencies.”
The above remarks combine much ado about nothing with perpetuating the Big Lie about Russian US election interference.
On Monday, Trump was asked by reporters if he ever worked for Russia. The Times and WaPo suggested he’s been a Russian agent or asset - despite no evidence proving it.
I deplore most everything about Trump, including his bombast, bravado, and serial lying. Not this time, denouncing the suggestion, saying: “Not only did I never work for Russia, I think it’s a disgrace that you even asked that question, because it’s a whole big fat hoax.”
I agree. Accusations without credible evidence backing them are groundless. Nothing suggests an improper or illegal Trump connection to Russia.
There’s plenty about him to criticize. I’ve slammed his deplorable domestic and geopolitical policies numerous times. I’ve said he exceeds the worst of his predecessors.
The Times falsely claimed “a long list of suspicious incidents and connections between Mr. Trump and the Russian government.”
It turned truth on its head, falsely claiming Kremlin meddling in the US political process “to get Trump elected.” Saying it’s what “America’s intelligence community agrees on,” what Mueller “is examining” is promoting the Big Lie the Times and other major media won’t let die.
Its editors slammed his troop pullout from Syria announcement, ignoring their illegal presence in the country, saying it’s “something that the Russians have long called for.”
“The Russians” are on the right side of history, supporting world peace and stability over endless wars of aggression, chaos and human misery.
Whatever polling data Paul Manafort may have shared “with an associate linked to Russian intelligence” was easily available public information.
The Times turned truth on its head, claiming it’s “the most direct evidence to date that the campaign may have tried to coordinate with Russia” - an absurd remark, along with falsely saying Trump aims to weaken “Western unity,” claiming Russia seeks the same thing, including a bald-faced lie that Putin “doesn’t have America’s best interests at heart,” adding:
“What’s no laughing matter is the unwillingness of the Republican Party to cast a critical eye upon a sitting president who has so flouted accepted practice for dealing with any foreign leader — not to mention one as adversarial as Vladimir Putin.”
As usual, Times Big Lies drown out hard truths. The self-styled newspaper of record is a national disgrace!
