Inventing Another Phony North Korean Threat

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Throughout its post-WW II history, no North Korean threats existed. So they had to be invented to justify US hostile actions against the country.

Media scoundrels conspire with Washington to denigrate Pyongyang, the latest from the neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post, the spy agency’s house organ, reporting what it wants published - claiming the DPRK poses “a deadly new threat,” saying:

There’s “plenty of evidence (that the country) threatens the world and its own people” - providing no evidence other than baseless accusations.

Now a new one, claiming its alleged “know-how for biological weapons…could be used for germ warfare,” adding:

“North Korea has been acquiring the essential machinery and seeking the know-how to produce large amounts of germ-warfare agents rather quickly…Pyongyang exhibited an interest in genetic engineering and other biotechnology disciplines.”

Fact: North Korea never attacked another country throughout its history.

Fact: It urges rapprochement with America, the West and other countries.

Fact: It seeks normalized relations worldwide. No evidence suggests it’ll attack another nation with conventional or other weapons, including chemical or biological ones.

Fact: America and Israel have undeclared arsenals of these deadly weapons, used in wars they wage.

In his book titled “The United States and Biological Warfare: Secrets of the Early Cold War and Korea,” co-authored with Edward Hagerman, Stephen Endicott said he “witnessed the American germ war campaign during a return visit to (North Korea) in 1952,” adding:

“The Canadian government threatened to try him for treason for his report, affirming the charges made by China and North Korea that the US had engaged in biological warfare.”

America uses banned weapons in all its wars. So do NATO countries and Israel.

In winter 1952, Chinese military forces in North Korea said “American aircraft were dropping strange objects” including live spiders, flies, bees, snakes, fleas, ticks, dead rats, and mosquitos encased in US military tubes, causing diseases unheard of during North Korean winters.

“Poisonous gas shells” were used. In a 2002 documentary titled “Code Name Artichoke,” former CIA agent Norman Cournoyer revealed “(t)here were people who had biological weapons and they used them. I won’t say anything more than that. They used them.”

Again in Vietnam, the rape of Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and elsewhere - WaPo and other media scoundrels reporting nothing.

WaPo lied saying Washington “gave up biological weapons in 1969.” Instead it claims, without evidence, that North Korea “created the foundations for a biological weapons program…warning of (an) escalating threat,” adding:

“Preemptive war could risk millions of casualties. But (the DPRK’s) malign intent cannot be tolerated forever…(It’s government) must be brought to an end.”

WaPo deplores peace and stability, promoting wars of aggression against nations threatening no one.

North Korea’s agenda is polar opposite America’s, abhorring conflict, wanting peace and good relations with all nations.
