Continued Trump Regime Sabotage of Venezuela’s Electricity Grid

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

So far, Trump regime hardliners ruled out direct military intervention in Venezuela - concerned over its sophisticated air defense capabilities.

Russian S-300s are installed and operating at strategic locations in the country - able to down multiple hostile 4th and 5th generation aircraft, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as other aerial targets at high or low altitudes up to 155 miles away with great accuracy.

Venezuela has at least six installations in place, each able to strike multiple aerial targets simultaneously.

A Pentagon attack on the country would be extremely costly. No ground invasion will happen without air cover. It’s believed Russian personnel in Venezuela are installing the latest S-300 upgrades, assuring they’re state-of-the-art.

The US fears they can take out its advanced F-35 warplanes if used against targets where these systems are operating.

Since March 7, Trump regime sabotage on Venezuela’s electrical grid occurred multiple times, creating nationwide and partial blackouts. The latest attack on Friday was reportedly caused by a Caracas-area El Avila Simon Rodriguez sub-station explosion.

Guaido admitted he was directly involved in the incident and earlier ones. His actions along with other anti-government elements are orchestrated by Washington.

Global Research quoted his following remarks from VTV, translated from Spanish, saying:

He told “the world that (he and other anti-government elements) are behind this devious and terrorist attack against the electric system” in an interview on Punto de Encuentro, broadcast by Venezolana de Television, adding:

“(T)he cessation of darkness will definitely come” when Maduro is toppled. There will be no solution to the electrical problem (until then).”

“There will be no water to the houses much less domestic gas. We will generate the necessary internal pressure to add up in this process of definitive cessation of the usurpation (sic).”

Separately on orders from Washington, he said “(w)e have to make a broad act of rejection. We will go out into the streets, at the gates of the urbanizations, to the buildings, to the neighborhoods, to the sectors, to express our rejection of this regime (sic). The only way out of this crisis is outside Maduro (sic).”

On Friday, Telesur tweeted: “#BREAKING | Reports of another loss of electricity in various points across Caracas and the country.”

Blackout occurred around 7:00 PM Friday, mostly affecting Caracas and surrounding areas. Maracaibo, Valencia, Maracay and San Cristobal also lost power.

Separately, Chinese humanitarian aid arrived at Caracas international airport, Beijing’s envoy to Venezuela saying the Bolivarian Republic is “an  integral strategic partner and our friend,” adding: “We are convinced that the Venezuelan people are capable of keeping the peace.”

Venezuelan Minister of Industry and National Production Tareck El Aissami called Chinese aid a way of countering US “aggression Venezuela has experienced, the terrorist acts. The blockade and the financial persecution are unprecedented anywhere in the world.”

On Friday, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) chief Francesco Rocca said the organization was granted permission by Venezuelan authorities to deliver aid in the country.

It’ll be provided “in a manner that is independent, neutral, impartial and unhindered, reaching more vulnerable people,” he explained, adding:

“As we scale up our operations, we can count on the committed Venezuelan Red Cross volunteers to reach people in need, whoever they are and wherever they are, with health care as the priority.”

In response to Trump regime officials demanding Russia leave Venezuela, its Defense Minister  Vladimir Padrino Lopez said the following:

“It is no secret to anyone that our country has been maintaining military and technical collaboration with Russia since 2001, but when (its military personnel) visit…Venezuela, a (contrived) scandal occurred. No one should worry about our bilateral cooperation,” adding:

“There is no sign of scandal when US military aircraft land in Cucuta (Colombia), or when electronic surveillance of the US Air Force around our territory increases 800 percent. Nobody speaks out when there are attempts to undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty.”

Acting as a virtual press agent for Trump regime coup plotters, the Wall Street Journal turned truth on its head, accusing Vladimir Putin of “ma(king) a career of intervening abroad (sic) and seeing if the world lets him get away with it (sic).” lllegal intervention is a US specialty, not how Russia operates anywhere.

The Journal and other establishment media pretend US wars of aggression, raping and destroying one country after another, aim to bring democracy to targeted nations - a notion the US abhors, the Journal adding:

“Mr. Trump’s credibility is now on the line. If he doesn’t want to be humiliated in our own hemisphere, he needs a strategy to get Russia and Mr. Maduro out of power in Caracas.”

The US is an unparalleled global menace. Russia effectively challenged its belligerence in Syria. Its support for Maduro is vital to preserve and protect Venezuelan sovereign from the US imperial scourge seeking to eliminate it.
